We offer positive training for you and your dog. Both group and private lessons are available. We are members of a large peer network supporting the canine society in the Lower Mainland.
The programs at the Dog Ranch Training & Information Centre are based on utilizing only positive dog training methods. Very simply, that means we reward our dogs for doing what we ask them to, and remove an anticipated reward when they do something we feel is inappropriate. The key is that we don't physically punish our dogs when they misbehave.
Puppy Head Start :
This is a private in-home session designed to give you the head start to raising a loving companion. Puppies between the ages of 7 to 11 weeks will benefit from this programme.
Puppy Manners:
This class will introduce the basic obedience commands - sit, down, stay, come, heel, leave it. We will also address good manners concerning jumping, mouthing, barking etc.
Basic Manners:
This class is for dogs 17 weeks to adult. We will cover the basic obedience commands as well as good manners concerning jumping, mouthing,barking etc.
Pre-requisite: Dogs must not be people or dog aggressive in order to attend. Owners of dogs who are not friendly with people or other dogs are invited to attend without their dog for a reduced fee.
Beyond Basic Manners:
This continuation of Puppy and Basic Manners is designer for the dog who has recently graduated from a beginner class.
We will take your dogs behaviour to the next level of obedience by weaning off treats, creating reliable down/stays and come, as well as walking without pulling and preventing jumping.
Feisty Fido:
This class is for dogs who have dog on dog aggression issues. Please call 778-278-2970 to arrange for an assessment.
Rally-O:
Rally Obedience is a fast growing dog sport suitable for dogs of any breed and level of fitness. Learn to navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises.
Mini Agility:
Canine agility is the fastest growing dog sport in North America. Your dog will learn how to naviagte through our mini agility equipment.
Really Reliable Recall:
You can teach your dog to come immediately when called; the first time, each time.
